Changing Poster Printer Paper in [David Murray Memorial] Science Center Room 450

Generally student posters are printed on Matte Paper, which is less expensive. If the printer has glossy paper, please change to Matte (non-glossy) paper as follows. If you need assistance, the Science Division Secretary [David Murray Memorial] Science Center Room 114 knows how to change it.

1. Poster printer must be on. Power switch is on the lower left back side.

2. Use the LED on the front right to switch to LOAD/UNLOAD. The LED then gives directions. Below are additional notes.

3. After removing the old roll of paper, orient the new roll so it unrolls properly, then push the roll onto the pole really tight. There must be no gap between the righthand roller piece and the actual paper roll. Try to push the left hand cap on tightly also.

4. Pole then mounts again under printer.

5. To feed paper into printer area, pull out about 2 meters of paper and then slide it into the printing area. When properly fed, you can feel the printer get traction on the paper, and see the wheel on the right edge turn.

6. It is tricky to align the paper properly. You want the right edge aligned with the right edge of the two blue marks where the paper comes out of the printer area. Pull it through to align on the paper collection trough under the printer.

7. Often when you try to close the casing to start printing, you will get an ERROR: MISALIGN message on the LED and have to do it again. Even proficient loaders find it takes 2-3 tries, and may even have to remove the paper roll and try again.
