The benefits of aspirin were so evident in a trial of 22,071 physicians that the longest and one of the biggest clinical trials in history was halted, because it was judged immoral to continue to give half the test group placebo when the benefits of taking aspirin were so clear.

A new study in 2022 concluded that those who have never had a heart attack will not benefit.

You should not take daily low-dose aspirin on your own without talking to your doctor. The risks and benefits vary for each person.

If you have had a heart attack or stroke, your doctor may want you to take a daily low dose of aspirin to help prevent another.
